Elvis Week – August 9-17

Graceland has proclaimed August 9-17 as Elvis Week 2022 to mark the 45th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s passing.

In observance of Elvis Week, the Library will honor the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll with movies, a concert, luau party, and special displays!

  • 11:00 AM – Lilo and Stitch
    A tale of an Elvis-obsessed Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly dog which turns out to be an escaped alien. Animated film starring the voices of Daveigh Chase, Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, David Ogden Stiers. (Rated PG; 1 hr, 25 min; released 2002 by Walt Disney Pictures.)
  • 2:00 PM – Blue Hawaii
    After arriving back in Hawaii from the Army, Chad Gates (Elvis Presley) defies his parents’ wishes for him to work at the family business and instead goes to work as a tour guide at his girlfriend’s agency. This classic Elvis film features beautiful scenery and great music. Starring Elvis Presley, Joan Blackman, Angela Lansbury. (Rated PG; 1 hr, 42 min; released 1961 by Paramount Pictures.)
