Got a Question? Try Niche Academy Tutorials

Niche Academy is a free tutorial service designed for library users.

Are you curious about the library’s E-Resources or other services? Then Niche Academy is for you!

Here are the top five reasons why you will love Niche Academy:

Reason #5: Learn all about what the library has to offer.

You can find video and/or text tutorials on many of the online services we offer such as OverDrive, Lynda, and Hoopla. And it doesn’t stop there! You can also find tutorials on basic computer skills, social media, Microsoft Office apps, and more!

Reason #4: You can get your feet wet.

Explore resources that are new. After working through a tutorial, you will know exactly what to expect and will be able to quickly start using that resource with your new knowledge.

Reason #3: Learn at your own pace.

The tutorials are brief and contain only the facts. Many of the tutorials are broken up into sections so that you may zero in on what you need, or you can pick up where you left off. Creating an account is not necessary for using Niche Academy, but it will allow you to track your own learning. It will require your name, email, and password of your choice. Neither Tarpon Springs Library or Niche Academy will access your learning progress.

Reason #2: It accommodates your learning needs.

Most tutorials have both video and text components. Watching a tutorial is pretty easy; just open it and click play. You can customize your learning experience by turning on closed captioning (convenient if you can’t play sound at the moment) and changing the speed if you wish to speed up or slow down the video.

Reason #1: You will always be up to date.

Niche Academy tutorials are updated as soon as changes are made to products, so you can always go back to see what’s new. When the library acquires a new product, you just may find a new tutorial in our Academy as well. We are also working on producing our own tutorials to explain services that are specific to the Tarpon Springs Library. Let us know if you want to see a tutorial on anything in particular; we welcome your feedback!
